Omar, proud of his belonging to the Al-Zuwaideh tribe, was born and raised among the golden sands and towering rock formations of Wadi Rum. From an early age, the beauty of the desert captured his heart. As a child, the desert was his playground, and every valley, mountain, and corner of Wadi Rum held a memory and a life lesson.
During his youth, Omar attended school in Wadi Rum village. In his free time he worked in tourism, learning from his family's deep experience and from the stories of his grandparents about Bedouin life, traditions, and the rich heritage of Wadi Rum.
Over time, Omar developed a deep passion for cultural exchange. He enjoyed meeting visitors from all over the world and sharing the authentic Bedouin way of life with them. Through these experiences he learned the true value of hospitality, heritage, and connection.
With determination and dedication, Omar built his career in tourism, improving his English and deepening his knowledge of Wadi Rum’s history and the needs of travelers. In 2015, his dream became reality when he founded Wadi Rum Omar Camp — a place where guests can experience the magic of the desert while enjoying the warmth of Bedouin hospitality.
